  1. I just saw part of the youtube video of your tour. That is a really cool filter system. I was able to catch a small glimpse of it. My mind is running wild now about what kind of things can be done with something like that haha yeah that tape layer is cool to have, I try to not run too many rimless tanks as I get hard water deposits at the water line when it evaporates.

  2. Haha don’t we all want more tanks? 😂 what size aquarium is this? 20 gallon? There are always so many options, I would say just choose something that you think would make you happy and fits with your community. Given that you like cichlids, maybe rams would be a good fit? A nice school of rasboras would look great as well though.

Anyways, I cannot wait to see your tank grown in. It is going to look great! I look forward to your next progress picture!

  3. Hi @laritheloud, great looking aquarium! I love the stocking and plant selection. Even more I love the attitude, not being afraid and seeing everything as an opportunity to learn is so important in life in general! The crypt tropica looks so good, it is so compact and perfect, I imagine it would look almost like a rose if viewed from above haha if you think the water sprite is a monster, just wait until that dwarf aquarium lilly takes off! 😂

    Thank you for sharing!

  4. @Betsy of course! And as far as feeding the cories, you can always feed the rasboras their food and while they are eating, you can drop some sinking food for the corydoras. That way you do not feel the need to overfeed. But overfeeding is not the worst thing, at least to an extent, it can just be harmful when the tank is not so established. But yes, letting things ride out would be a good thing to do, to let nature do what nature does.

Yeah doing the lilly bulb like that is helpful as it will sprout and you can see what is the correct way to plant it. I place it in a cup, let it sprout, plant it in the aquarium and let it thrive haha

I cannot wait to see your updates!

  5. I have yet to see a fully colored up candy cane tetra in person but they look really good in that home tank picture. I do not know much about this fish but I immediately noticed that some have a black mark on the dorsal fin. Sexual dimorphism? Or simply just a mark?

Thank you for sharing @Robert, cannot wait to see what stops you in your tracks next!

  6. @Chris45 I see, I do something similar where I feed my aquarium as a source of ammonia. I typically try to feed at least as much as I think I will feed the fish I will be stocking or even a little more. I do that along with some sponge from an established tank. Then introduce fish and other inhabitants slowly over time.

  7. Hi @Chris45, how are you doing your fishless cycle? What source of ammonia are you using?

Scaping an aquarium is a form of art in my opinion, everyone has their own style and interpretation, and it evolves over time. As long as you enjoy the aquarium and the inhabitants are healthy, I say its a great scape.

I cannot wait to see what hardscape you find!

  8. @Ricklax96 I am also not a big social media guy, I only have an app to see sports news, thats the closest I had gotten to social media before this haha but this forum is different, very positive, helpful and lots of great people. So yeah, welcome to the forum.

I love the hardscape! Very distinct driftwood and the fish look just as amazing. Great pictures of the ram, corys and snail. I agree, pennywort is awesome haha I also agree with @xXInkedPhoenixX, the 75 gallon will be coming soon after this great performance with the 29 😂
