  1. Looks like an abscess that's ruptured what what I would do is keep stable water parameters add a small amount of aquarium salt 1 table spoon for 5 gallons the salt will aid Gill function and add essential electrolytes just remember to only put back in what you take out so if you do a 5 gallon water change put 1 table spoon of aquarium salt back in as salt only removed though water changes and do  course of maracyn2 to help prevent any secondary bacterial infections add an extra air stone while treating @Ramonmarket

I added the last dose of H2O2 today. I can still see the fungus on the one shrimp. It might be a little better but it hasn't changed much so I cant really tell.

I don't really want to increase the dose of H2O2 so I'm going to isolate him and try salt dips. Seems like people have had success doing that.

Is it just the one shrimp with green fungus now

  3. Dropsy can be caused by a number of things such as organ failure parasitic or bacterial infection The most effective treatment I have found for dropsy is aquarium salt 1 table spoon for 2 gallons that will help reduce fluid buildup causing the pineconing dose the tank with kanaplex that will treat any possible internal bacterial infection and metroplex in food feeding a small amount twice a day for upto 3 weeks @Skyler

  4. The medication paralyzes the worms making it easy for the fish two expel them it doesn't kill the eggs  that why it requires multiple treatments spread over 4 weeks

  5. Cory's method of using paracleanse is as a prevent treatment if your having an active infection you would want to treat following the instructions on the box and do three full courses of treatment two weeks apart so you would treat on week 1 week 3 week 5 @Nicholasp

  6. I can see some minor damage  . flukes causes red spots on your fish over production of the slime coat rapid breathing flashing the Gill's will become swollen or pale if it were flukes you would want to do three full courses of paracleanse two weeks apart so treat on week 1 week 3 week 5 @Hannahblue45

@Colu the 20gallon appears to be clear for now, hopefully i have isolated the condition in the 5gallon.

I have added an extra air stone and dosed salt to the 5 gallon tank, I will look for those meds as soon as my LFSs open later today, i do not have either on hand.

Could be columnaris so you would want to start treating as soon as possible treatment I would usually recommend is kanaplex and jungal fungus clear fizz tabs containing nitrofurazone these medication are harmful to shrimp columnaris spreads more quickly at temperatures over 75 I would lower temperature to 75

  8. Looks like a growth in the muscle tissue possible a cyst it could also be a benign or cancerous growth if you have quarantine tank I would more it and treat with maracyn2 active ingredient minocycline also has anti-inflammatory properties and aquarium salt 1 table spoon for 2 gallons just remember to only put back in what you take out so if you do a 2 gallon water change put 1 table spoon of salt back in as salt only removed though water changes if after a week there's no improvement more than a cancerous or benign growth there's not a lot treatment wise I could recommend for that other than monitor

Situation continues to degrade. I'm sick now too 🤢 (not with the same thing as the platies), had to catch out all my female platies but 1 that were infected and isolate them in the 5gallon. I'm not sure how to treat it so the 5 gallon seems like a "dont take everyone down with you" tank, not the most cheerful. The female platies did not make themselves easy to catch out, my tank had to look like this:

    IMG_0628.JPG.f6bfaf11dcb3198aead83a420bab7a68.JPG

I discovered that the female i thought wasnt infected, possibly was infected only for her to completely disappear so i cant get a better look. Yeah, its not very fun right now, never had such few platies in the big tank...

Turns out the tank has a ton of shrimp though, they had been hiding in the big wood piece but were dislodged when i removed it, they held a gathering on the sponge filter

As you have shrimp what I would do is start treating with maracyn2 or API fin and body cure both are shrimp safe which ever one is more readily available do two courses course back to back and add a small amount of aquarium salt 1 table spoon for 5 gallon salt will aid Gill function and add essential electrolytes and add an extra air stone during treatment

  10. Possible swim bladder issues with what your describing for that you would want to do Epsom salt baths 1 table spoon for 1 gallon for no more  then 15 minutes for 5 days as Epsom salt acts as a muscle relaxant to relieve pressure on the swim bladder

  11. A little more information would be helpful what are your water parameters ammonia nitrite nitrate pH KH GH temperature what symptoms are you seeing can you post picture of the Sick fish

  12. It's sound like you've had couple of things going on a parasitc infection with being lethargic sunken belly that can also weaken there immune system leading to secondary bacterial infections what I would do is @Odd Ducktreatment protocol for parasitic infections you can use paracleanse active ingredient praziquantel and metronidazole and expel p active ingredient levamisole I wouldn't recommend Melafix for anything serious  it more of mild antiseptic treatment @Sondra Bradshaw

  13. How long have you had the fish before the first death and how long between the fish showing symptoms and dieing When you first started losing did notice if you had an ammonia or nitrite spike have you  noticed any other symptoms such rapid breathing hanging out near the surface lethargy spitting food out white stringy poop over production of the slime coat @Sondra Bradshaw

  14. Possible hole in the head with secondary bacterial infections most effective treatment is metronidazole active ingredient in metroplex or fritz metrocleanse feeding a small amount twice a day for 3 weeks and dose the tank with kanaplex salt is not an  effective treatment for hole in the head I would get the medication I recommended and start treatment straight away @B1gJ4k3

@Colu when should i start the second week of paracleanse. Should i start it a week after i started or on day 5 after the 25% waterchange or the next day?

You want to treat two weeks after the first so the second course will be at the start of week 3 then the third course on week 5

  16. You can do a course of kanaplex that a broad spectrum antibiotic treatment but it can be harmful to shrimp it's not very effective in food as very little of the medication is adsorbed by the intestinal tract you could quarantine your fish if you have another tank or a tote or remove the shrimp and then  treat with kanaplex maracyn oxy active ingredient is sodium chloride essential salt so it would be more effective against fungal infection @AnxiousAndFishious

  17. It's not very likely for shrimp to have bought in parasites if your betta was lone for a long period of time in that tank chances of your betta having a parasitc infection that's now affecting your endlers is less likely unless there came in with a parasitc infection from your sister tank  I would check your tap waters KH and GH just to make sure your tap water hasn't changed low KH and GH can cause a lot of health issues in liverbears diet  what are you feeding and how often
