Built my Stand - Getting Driftwood and Plant Ready!

One thing That helped me  a lot when tryna get my drift wood to sink was to make it sink. Push it down every day further and further until it hits the substrate. One day it will semi-float (fully in the water but not touching the substrate) and then the next I push it down and it completyly sank.

Very cool!!!  Rimless tanks look so snazzy!

Good luck with the driftwood!  I've glued rocks to the bottom of some of my pieces...and piled rocks on the top of others...it's tricky to get those suckers to sink sometimes!!

Its a 2x4 frame like you see on a lot of the DIY fish stand videos cased in big-box store shiplap. The great part about the distressed look is it hides my carpentry mistakes. I should probably give a shout- out to my Dad who is a professional carpenter approaching retirement age; I'm pretty sure he thought I wasn't paying attention when I worked with him 25 years ago.
