Patrick M. Bodega Aquatics
Hello! I am wanting to get some better footage of my fish. I was also considering to start making some Youtube vids in the next year or two. What cameras do you recommend for photos and videos of fish? Thanks! Streetwise
I have bought a few different video cameras, but I keep pulling out my iPhone for all my impromptu photos and videos. A good phone camera is always nice to have because it is always with you. I’m tempted by the new iPhones with magnetic lens mounts. For a quality webcam, I love the Logitech Brio 4K. Other folks will have more suggestions for dedicated cameras.

Hobbit
I got this set of two clip-on lenses for Christmas and I absolutely love it!! https://www.amazon.com/Xenvo-iPhone-Camera-Lens-Clip/dp/B01A6D2JVI It’s super easy and fast to stick it on your phone when you want to take a picture. Plus it comes with a rechargeable clip-on light. All of the macro pictures/video I’ve been posting here have been using that lens. I haven’t used the wide angle lens yet but I know it will come in handy. The one caveat is that you have to have a somewhat thin case on your phone to use it. It won’t work well over bulky cases. Daniel
Almost every picture I have posted on the forum has been taken with my iPhone. For close up photos I use a Moment macro lens with my iPhone.
FrozenFins
I think whats best about a phone is that because its always on you (or close to you) you can catch a fish in the act. Like for example yesterday I found my bristlenose pleco in my spongefilters tube. I thought it was so cute, and was able to take a pic. But if I went to go find my actual camera I would have missed it.
