Fish Folk
Today, I’ve been admiring one of my Discus that suffered badly from pop-eye a year ago or so. Though we worked through the disease, the fish lost sight in (her??) right eye… (this photo taken last year) But, this is a story about healing over the long haul. With better feeding and care, she’s really starting to heal that eye — something I never thought would happen. Here are a few shots of her today. When you see the right eye, notice how it’s clearing up / growing healthy again… Now, it may be that she’ll never fully regain perfect eyesight. But I think that feeding quality foods, keeping reasonably clean water, and other elements of patient care — TIME being a profound medicine — can reverse certain injuries in fish. I’m going to shout out @quirkylemon103 and @Hobbit just because… there’s some folks you think might especially appreciate a story… Edited December 8, 2021 by Fish Folk 5

I ought to add that it was poor quality of both that got my fish sick in the first place.

Even just a couple weeks ago, poor water quality killed about 7/8 of my shrimp, and I had no idea it was going on. Whether fortunately or unfortunately, a lot of us understand.

Thanks for sharing! ❤️ My son told me he thinks she got a cataract following from the Popeye illness. I guess it makes sense that a cataract could heal with better care over time.
