Colu
From what I have read 10 gallons the minimum size for keeping multis I have never keeped them so maybe some one else can chip in
Tihshho
I think you might be pushing it because there is a chance they will produce to the point you're going to have water quality issues. I'm sure someone else with more experience such as @Zenzo might have more wisdom on this though.
Administrators Zenzo Posted September 18, 2021 Administrators Share Posted September 18, 2021 The "problem" with multis, is that if you are successful, your small group will become a large group, and will one day be too much for the small tank. I have done them many times in 10 gallons, and currently have a small colony in a 20 high (and a larger group in 60 long). I would suggest something different for your 45a. Because the 45a has some real estate taken up by the internal filter, It will get cramped. Maybe some nano fish that would do well in a 5 gallon? I am loving the Scarlet Badis that I have in my little ADA tank.
Stephen Zawacki
Would a 15 gallon aqueon tank be good for multis also can you do plants with them.
Colby mif FIN
15 gallons will be alittle tight but can be done just remember they may eventually breed and quickly fill the tank up. Most people would say no to plants but I find that you can have success with anubias attached to the glass on the higher level of the tank. You can also do pothos or lucky bamboo in your hang on back or simply have the roots over hanging on the top of the setup. Good luck
Beardedbillygoat1975
I have had 5 Brevis in a 10 gallon with anubias on lava rocks and valisineria in the mixed crush coral aragonite sand without issue. As long as you plan to rehome the brood that follows you should be good. I do think I see more personality and behaviors in the 20 long then I did in the 10.
