  1. Hi Everyone ~ While it may be amusing to many experienced fish keepers, let's keep in mind that we were all beginners at one point. As ridiculous as some reviews might seem, we still value the feedback and use them as learnings for the team as well as product development. Let's try to remember the spirit of this forum and keep things positive and constructive. I do appreciate all of you supporting Aquarium Co-Op though! 😃
  2. I have a mixture of glass and acrylic tanks, but the majority are glass.
  3. This issue has been fixed. Our apologies for any confusion, and thank you for bringing this to our attention.
  4. Don't be hard on yourself. We all made errors when starting the hobby. The fact that your tank is now a month old and has live plants is a good thing, and I wouldn't worry too much. Just keep up on testing the water for the next few weeks to make sure that there aren't any big swings in parameters. Getting an ammonia test kit would be ideal, as the multi kit doesn't test for that. Glad to see that you jumped in headfirst and are enjoying the hobby!
  5. Cute and creative! Happy Holidays!
  6. Hey Everyone! We have some new, super cool items in our retail store. We have the new Purple Jade Rock that many of you have been asking about, as well as the new Mountain Peak rocks. The Purple Jade looks exceptionally colorful when wet. We also have the new Aquarium Co-Op rimless Curved Front Glass Aquariums, in sizes ranging from 2.5 gallons up to 13 gallons. Come by and check them out!
  7. The Amanos would be expensive snacks. Nerite would be okay though.
  8. We do not have our items available in India. The only way that I am aware of would be for someone that you know in the U.S. to send you the items.
  9. Easy solution: Add your location in your signature if you'd like to share. 😉
  10. Many people are private and do not want disclose their location. It would be better to just ask the person posting what area they are referring to when it comes to their tap water, etc. This way they may choose how much information they want to share. If they choose to, they could give a general region (like Western Idaho, Souther Missouri, etc.), or be more specific and list a city or even a neighborhood.
  11. @Maximus I am sorry to see that this happened. I hope your platy recovers. Is the wound still fresh? If so, I would suggest using an antibacterial medication like Maracyn, or salt (if meds are not available to you). This will help prevent further tissue loss due to an infection. As far as food, I wouldn't worry until it has been 10+ days. Your platy looks healthy and could probably go a week or two without food. Maybe try some live or frozen baby brine shrimp, as they are small and should be easy to consume. From there, maybe some frozen brine shrimp (larger ones), and then back to flake.
  12. So cool! Thanks for tagging me @Beardedbillygoat1975, and thanks for sharing @Pigeonduck!
  13. Once you have joined (one time), that's all that is required. The only other part is to open up the blog emails when they are sent out each week (for more chances to win).
  14. @Izzyf Our section on lighting in our Advice Center may be useful to you. Here is the link: https://www.aquariumcoop.com/pages/help-center#/collection/4962/article/24534
  15. I feed my white cloud fry ground-up flake food or Easy Fry Food. BBS is good when they get a little bigger.
  16. Yes, I have spoken with people that use Easy Green for their house plants, and it is working for them. It is probably more cost-effective to use a regular houseplant fertilizer, but if you have extra Easy Green hanging around, I am sure your house plants would be happy.
  17. UPDATE as of 5pm - Water was restored and everything is back to normal.
  18. Hi Everyone, The building where our retail store is located has experienced a plumbing issue that has required that the water main be shut off so that a maintenance crew can address the problem and make repairs. Our store is open, primarily for dry goods and plants. We will have limited ability to sell fish today, as the lack of water limits our ability to sanitize nets between use. We do not have an estimated time that the repairs will be completed, but we will keep you updated on this post. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you. @brandonnaturally
  19. No plans on starting a BAP at this time. Maybe one day…if time permits.
  20. I am sorry to read that you are having issues with your plants. I doubt that it is due to the amount of light (or lack of light). I would guess that it is due to lack of nutrients at the roots. I also see that you have a sand substrate, which plants can sometimes struggle with as not many nutrients make it through the sand, which is more tightly-packed than gravel or other substrate. I would start off by using a root fertilizer like Easy Root Tabs, adding a few per planted area/under each plant.
  21. Hi Glenn, Yes, we reduced the plants that we are currently offering. This was due to both availability and quality. Some farms struggled with our quantity requirements, and we also found that certain plants did not do very well, which resulted in a poor customer experience.
  22. Came back last night after being out of town for 8 days. None of the fish were fed while I was gone, and they are all doing well (checked on them and fed them this morning).
