Welcome @Afishionado! Your tanks look great! I am thinking about upgrading to a 75g. We just moved to a bigger house. Any ideas re stocking? The only thing I breed now is snails - and that was an accident when I received a pregnant snail from the fish store. LOL
Right now i have a 10g betta and a 20gL with snails and tetras.
Great idea re plywood! I will try that. And i think it will be easier to take out plants - that way i can get to all the fish. And it will be an opportunity to re-scape the tank #bright side
Hi Nerms,
I need to move this tank around the corner to a new house.
I was going to catch the fish, but them in a bucket with the tank water and then drain it and go to new house. But what do i do with all the snails???
Hi Nerms!
I am in the market for a bigger aquarium and have been looking on Facebook marketplace.
Any tips/advice/things to look out for while I sort through my options?
Everytime I clean my cannister filter it seems to drip for a bit. It isn’t a lot of water. Just very small drips that make a puddle under the cannister. One time I was overzealous with the polyfil and I took it out. This time I didn’t think I used to much. Any thoughts?
Happy New Year Nerms! I need help with my betta Cutie.
He is having trouble swimming to the top of the tank - and in general swimming straight. Now he is staying on the bottom of the tank instead of swimming up to top like he usually does.
Good news is he is still interested in eating.
Background - he had a bad case of fin rot last month that I treated with kanaplex (kanamycin) and maracyn 2 (minocycline).
Thoughts?
UPDATE - I was reading online and it said that drop in temp can do it. I changed his water and forgot to plug in the heater!!!
I have added another heater and will add some warm water to the tank.
I was watching the AC you tube on plants posted in last day. There was some attachment to the bottom of a hose that distributed the water so it didn’t disturb substrate/plants. Anyone know what it could be? It looked like a half moon shape.
On the second photo it looks like it has reached the body (see pink where dorsal fin meets body). I might also start kanaplex in addition to salt. I have had this happen to my betta with that kind of erosion. There is an article on titrations salt on the AC blog.
Thanks @Chick-In-Of-TheSeaand @Guppysnail!
Funny you mentioned it - I did stir up stuff the other day when I was moving them out of breeder box and I did a gravel vac. I have an air stone. I will turn it up. Just changed the water.
