  1. I just checked with the strips. Maybe slightly off. I will do a quick water change just in case. Did one 2 days ago.
  2. @Chick-In-Of-TheSeawhy do they line up at the top? See pic Any reason in particular?

    Fin rot?

I use 1 tablespoon of aquarium salt per 3 gallon of water chronically in my tank to help keep fin rot at bay. So far it has worked very well.
  4. I agree with @xXInkedPhoenixX kanaplex has been a successful go to for my finrot. @Colu has a recipe for using in the food. Also, I have found it works even better when I add a small amount of aquarium salt - 1:3 to 1:1 (tablespoon: gallon).
  5. I just saw this when I was inspecting the tank (see pic). Is this beard algae? What should I do? Thanks in advance!
  6. I have also seen some free ones in the main tank that came from the natural/glass hatching. See pic of momma and baby. I can’t tell if the shell color difference between the two baby sets is due to light or something else.
  7. Released from breeder box! Roam free! See pic
  8. @Chick-In-Of-TheSeasorry for the delayed response! We had a sump pump and a furnace failure in the same week here! The snails are doing well. I do frequent water checks and keep the food and calcium coming. I might have seen 1 or 2 of the aquarium glass raised ones, but I am not sure because they are small. I am wondering when i move the largest group out of its breeder box? See pics. also- i asked my LFS and one of the employees said that I could donate them. I was kind of surprised that I wouldn’t get even a few dollars of store credit for them. Does that seem odd? I was going to find the manager next time i am in the store.
  9. I have found kanaplex and salt to b the best for treating fin rot in my betta. @Coluis the expert.
  10. Hi @Chick-In-Of-TheSeathank you for checking on me! We are coming along. Here are the pics of three clutches. 2 are in the big plastic box to the left. I have moved them into another tank (empty 10g) to keep the water more stable. one clutch on the wall had the snails come out into the tank. Will keep an eye out to see if any make it. And another fell off the wall and into the water before they hatched. I check the water daily and change as necessary. looks like most are blue like mom.
  11. I have also found that adding aquarium salt to the water helps with betta fin rot. See the salt article on AC blog for detailed instructions.
  12. @Chick-In-Of-TheSea@Guppysnailthe snails keep growing! See pic and she keeps laying clutches!😱 but what is that white thing on the new clutch? See pic
  13. @meadeam i just had my mystery snail lay eggs one day - and now i am 6 clutches in! @Chick-In-Of-TheSea and @Guppysnailhave been INVALUABLE. I HIGHLY recommend @Chick-In-Of-TheSeasnail journal and Lav’s youtube channel (which is linked on the snail journal)
  14. So u were correct - not surprising lol. tha other clutch in the incubator hatched. See pic. It looks like more than the first clutch!😱 do I put them in the same breeder box with the other now larger baby snails? Or should they get their own breeder box?
  15. What am I going to do with all these little ones???
  16. I try to keep the 20g they are in below 50 nitrate. The others are usually always zero. But I will be more diligent.
  17. I was going to move them to my 10g tank upstairs which is right now empty. Was a backup quarantine if needed. Now i just keep it going in case. Think i need more?
  18. Ok. I will keep an eye on it
  19. Does this look like mold?
  20. Hi Friends! @Chick-In-Of-TheSeaand @Guppysnail the snails are growing! and I have managed to keep pest snails out. I remove any babies that sneak in. See pic. also- one of the glass clutches has broken open- see pic. I picked up some babies that dropped in the water- QUESTION- should I remove the clutch from the wall? Or continue to let nature have its way?
  21. Great suggestion! I have crab cuisine and will keep that in mind for when they are bigger. question- when do you know that all the snails have hatched? I started breaking down the second clutch and then noticed that inside there was some goo. I hope i didn’t kill anything. I just wasn’t sure when it was done “hatching”
  22. Ok. I have the lid on and the pests have not been able to get in. I am about to clean the box shortly. I was watching the Lav video about cleaning and she mentioned happy snail tales .com @Chick-In-Of-TheSea @Guppysnail have you ever purchased food from them? Cool little site.
  23. When they are overrun - those throat survive- I was going to move to another tank. Think that is ok? @Chick-In-Of-TheSea@Guppysnailmy pest snails are invading the breeder box! See pic I will put the lid on. any other tips??
