I inherited a tank from a friend who moved. He had neon and black tetras. I call the tank Tetraland and have added ember tetras. any suggestions for other favorite tetras to add? It’s a 20g long planted. See pic. Working on continuing to add more plants. No CO2.

My light does not have a dimmer. I bought it from AC. Has anyone ever used a dimmer plug?

Have you tried to feed him with tweezers? I did this when my betta didnt want to come to the surface when he was sick. I would take the betta pellet and release it inside his hut. He would eat it when it was released. which antibiotics have you used?

I found some rocks on the beach in Cape Cod. Do I have to be concerned bc of salt water? Do you have to do anything to rocks in general (e.g., boiling like driftwood) before adding to tank?

My Golden Nesea seems to be doing well - but i noticed what i think are roots coming out from the shoots in the middle of the plant. See pic. Is that normal?

That may be it. There is a cannister filter in this tank with a fast top flow. I have a bunch of other plants. See pic.

Hi All, I bought some red root floaters for my 20G long and I have noticed a lot of shedding/dying leaves (~50%). Any ideas? I am wondering if its because they are floating to corners of tank with little light. So I bought a contraption to keep them in one space. Any advice welcome! Thanks Nerms!

Thanks all! I have done the IchX in the tank and added 1:5 salt. And we are down to 1 spot on the baby tetra. How long should I treat? Tonight will begin day 4.

@Coludo i have to stop my cannister filter? It does not have carbon. Only sponges, biomedia and polyfil

One of my new tetras has white spots. See video. See ember tetra. Is it ok to isolate 1 tetra in quarantine to treat? The plant has snails and plants.

Do different tetras school with each other?

Sounds like best to give them appealing calcium containing foods like veggies and nano blocks and just use the egg shells/coral/wondershells/cuttlebones for adding calcium to the water. Thanks all!

I bought 6 tetras and 1 died. Can i keep the 5 as a school or do i have to buy 1 more? Background - they are in a tank with 7 black tetras and 6 neon tetras.

I bought this water sprite and it had much longer stems than I am used to. See pic. Can i cut some of the stems and replant? Or should i cut and let float and root first? Any and all advice welcome. Thanks!

I’m not well educated on snails care - what does the calcium in the water due vs. the calcium they eat? Also, any suggested reading/watching?
