ok that could be, but 3 of my mystery snails are dead and they were large snails. i have had snails with these loaches for 5 months. why now? would ammonia spike at 0.50 kill my snails?

hello fish keeping friends! So just got home from work, and i see not 1 not2 but 4 dead snails on the substrate. the yoyo loaches and zebra loaches are eating them. tested water every good except ammonia that reads 0.50 i am doing a 50% WC right now. could that have killed them?

yes my stem plants are at the surface of the aquarium every plant is growing lush.

Your tank reminds me of a pond we had on our property in oregon that had a creak running through it that draind into the very river i dove in. very beautiful!

WHAT A GREAT TOPIC!!!! I say that cause all most every thing in nature makes me think of one of two things. my daughter or aquascaping. i was a diver ( SCUBA ) been skindiving since 8 yrs old. spear fishing in the ocean and rivers. ( NOTE SPEARING CARP WHITE SUCKER FISH AND SQUAW FISH LAMBERAY EELS IN RIVERS was legal in the 70s) Please forgive me i was just a small child. Every tank build i have done was inspired by the things i saw in the bottom of rivers. even now my 75g tank even after watching hours and hours of low tech aquascapes and buying all the aquascape tools my tank looks like a river bottom JUNGLE! you want to know just how bad i have fish keeping sickness. not to long ago i was playing WOW world of warcraft its a online game. i was in a zone called ashnvale that zone is inhabited by night elves and many beast of all kinds. a thick magical wooded forest, lots of wood trees rocks and streams. while killing a few horde players i stopped to think wow that fallen tree would would be a awsome piece in my tank. that whole zone would be amazing scape.

HELLO! back in the 80s i had a 125g with Central/ South American Cichlids. Back then i used a under gravel filter with a HOB filter. then i added a power head for water displacement. my tank was over stocked, so i had to do weekly water changes. my fish were very healthy. knowing what i know now that tank was under filtered. two tidal 110 HOB and a power head with a sponge on the intake would work. the Cichlids might cause problems with the sponge filter, since they love to move substrate around so much. As fish well i had huge issues with my two oscars they were great untill they got big then got very aggressive. to all my other fish, had to rehome them. i had jack dempsys, servums, jewel cichlids, texas cichlids, common pleco, gold datnoid. rainbow arowana. bichir, hope this gives you some ideas and answers. the tidal 110 is the HOB filter i have ever used

the redline torpedo bard is beautifull fish. that gets up to 6 inches and schools' fast swimmer .

HELLO FISH KEEPERS! Do you guys ever interact with your fish? I often stick my hand in my tank and let my fish swim through my fingers even let them nibble a little bit.yes i wash my hands every time. i think of it as gaining there trust. showing affection to them. if any of you fish keepers have any pics please share them.

When i was choosing what fish to stock in my 75 g planted. i saw a small vid of a guy who lives in northern california who has a 100 g outdoor pond full of white clouds and cherry barbs. if that helps.

SO TRUE! i just added 8 rosy barbs. so testing water daily. think my bio load was to lite for all my plants hers a pic. would say this is a heavy planted tank?

thank you my nitrites are at 0. not a new tank 5 months with plants 4 months with fish. lots of plants and pothose growing out of HTB filters.

HELLO FISH FAMILY! i just did a ammonia test but my eyes cant tell if i am in the 0 or the 0.25 range. what do you think? is there a diffrent kind of test like strips for ammonia testing? also after 4 weeks with out a water change, my nitrates are still at 0, why cant i get my nitrates up?
