  5. do you think hornwort will thrive just floating even though i have a glass lid?
  6. i just googled hornwort i think i might go that route since i can just let it float at the surface. i can make a drift net thingy using airline tubbing and suction cups.
  7. those floating rings look like they might work but as you stated you have lids on your tank as i do. do you think Jungle Vallisneria could work if i let it grow and drape over at the surface? at like one end of the tank
  8. HELLOW PLANT GROWING FRIENDS! SO, I will need to get some floating plants the issue is i have two large hang on the back filters t5hat move a lot of water at the surface. i am going to get a large school of Odessa barbs who like lower light and a place to hide under. what can i get for floating plants that will not be a problem with the hang on the backs.

  11. HELLO FELLOW FISH KEEPERS! I have missed you all! I am making big changes to my 75g tank first off, my tank is doing great my plants are growing so fast i do weekly trimmings. as you see in the pic its a jungle. So the big changes are i am going to trade in my 7-rummy nose and my five-monk fish and three of my 8- rosy barbs and my large common pleco. the reason for this is my rummy nose can't compete for food and my monk fish seem to kiddish and my pleco is to big Hes uprooting my plants and i have to many rosy barbs. what i want is 10 all male Odessa barbs. does anyone know if its ok to have all males? and second i am going to thin out some plants i will be ordering a lot of midground plants from the coop. if any of you guys have Odessa barbs can you let me in on the dos and don'ts. everything i have read online says there a easy fish to keep but need very consistent water. i am worried that when i first get them they might go in shock if my water is to different from their current water. What to do about that?
  12. thank you fingers crossed ok great info as of right now its still in the pot. tomorrow i will plant it Gently push one-third of the bulb into the substrate such that the shoots or leaves are completely above ground. Do not bury the entire bulb as in structed

  15. Hello ,y fish keeping friends!! so i tested my water today twice.my ammonia is at .25 and the rest is in the pic. i did a 40% WC and my ph is at 6.0 so i ordered some crushed coral from the coop it said to use 1 pound bag per 20g so i got 3 bags for my 75g tank. does that sound good? next question how do i use it do i just sink in my tank or place it in my HBF? THANKS FOR THE HELP!

  18. wow I just dont know what to say! so i will start with this. i have followed you and hugo from day one when you mentioned hugo was ill. How touched and amazed at what lengths and all the resources you tried to use to save his life!!! As the roller coaster of life and death raged on you never quit. You gave hugo every single hope at defying death. and for weeks you did just that! hugo got to have days of better times even when it looked impossible for hugo, he got stronger and healthier. BUT in the end, as it often happens in life death prevails. you still had the strength to do what was right. and ended pain and suffering and put hugo to a gentle sleep! If i ever become half the fish keeper you were with hugo i will be a loving caring fish keeper. THANK YOU FOR SHARING HUGO"S LIFE WITH US!!!! Scott the fishman
