@JoeQ yeah I wasn't sure if it was because it was a new tank or not but when I set up my 75g again with more plants from the co-op they did fine I had new leaves within weeks so it was very confusing.
-
So earlier this year I set up a 29g and got dwarf sag, scarlet temple, red flame sword, Amazon sword, and a Lily bulb. The scarlet temple ended up completely dying over a couple months not enough light I think but everything(except for the Lily bulb it always did well) else just kind of dwindled it was neither dying nor growing and it was about the 3 month mark when I was about to give up everything just started growing like crazy and now it's unstoppable. I know Cory says it can take up to 6 weeks for die back to turn around but 3 months seemed a little extreme. Can it really take that long or were my plants an extreme?

I agree with @Guppysnail if it is ammonia poisoning more meds will only hurt them more. Can you call the fish store and ask them how long they had them?
And maybe ask them if they had any losses maybe they had more than 10 to begin with? Sorry for your loss that really stinks.

That poor anubias! Has anyone ever noticed any of the fish picking at that plant?

I want to see and hear all the tips and tricks you fine people have learned that made the hobby easier for you. For me it would be finding the right connections to hook up a garden hose to my faucet to fill my tanks up. Also using a garbage can to dump the water into from the tank and pumping it outside with 25ft tubing.

I’ve gotten an FZONE CO2 drop checker from Amazon. No amount of tilting and turning it seems to get the solution to go into it. It won’t go down past the turn. Does this sound like the device is bad or am I putting the solution in wrong?
Do you by chance have a pipette to try and get the fluid in there? That sounds a little odd if you're tilting it correctly it should go in.

I have a red wag platy that seems to have trouble with it's buoyancy. It keeps floating to the top of the tank is this a swim bladder issue if so how do I treat this?

It looks like it could be a bacterial infection something else could be going on what are your water parameters
Should they possibly try using normal Maracyn?

It seems like you may benifit from this article a couple of your questions get answered at least. Seems like if you would want to keep the babies you'd definitely need to have a brackish tank I'm sure a LFS would definetly buy them off of you! For your third question I would assume you may just get a nitrite or ammonia increase possibly but I can't imagine it's be any different that say feeding brine shrimp and if they're in a separate tank it shouldn't matter I wouldn't think. Hope this at least helps a little bit if not hopefully someone for experienced can answer this for you. Good luck!

Welcome to the forum that tank looks amazing!

So these medications you are doing this experiment with do they just take a long time to fully dissolve in the water or are you saying they don't dissolve well at all?

I haven't kept this crypt but have had some other crypts since no one else has chimed in I will say after looking at some pictures online it does look possible for that crypt to have some wavy leaves like you have pictured.

Amazing fish! My mollies and platys do that too pick at things in the aquarium all day even though they are nice and plump.

Mine would be Tetra's. I'm not sure why I like them so much I just do. Every type of Tetra I've seen so far is so facinating to me I love how they swim and school together. If I had to pick a specific Tetra look no further than my profile picture, the Von Rio Tetra or as I call them the pink lemonade Tetra. They have amazing coloration and are so peaceful in my community tank I would love to breed them one day.

I've also used them and like Guppysnail said just make sure it's just melamine and you'll be good!
