I forgot, but possibly an anubias nana. He IS warming up and he checks the feeding ring each time I'm near his tank. I can now hand-feed him. -
Introduction and shrimp question

If they were big enough, then yes, java ferns are good, java moss, marimo moss balls, dwarf liles, dwarf chain swords, cyrpt tropica, and anubias nana would also fit fine. -
This is my first tank, may I present to you: my male veiltail betta I got from Aquarium Co-op a week ago! I named him Aurora. He is in a 5.5 gallon Aqueon tank with a nano sponge filter, a pre-set heater to 79 Fahrenheit, with anubias nana, crypt tropica, water lettuce, and (dwarf chain sword maybe). With stingray light, feeding ring, betta hammock and mirror. I am planning to get a nerite snail and some dwarf corydoras in the tank too.

Will the poop increase ammonia? I don't have a siphon. What about the bacteria on the filter?

How many pygmy cories should be the right amount? Can I place different species of corydoras in a 5.5 gal tank? Panda Cory, Dwarf Cory, and Pygmy Cory? Can they be with shrimp and/or snails too?

This is my tank: So I don't know if its planted well, I'm pretty sure its not heavily planted.

What fish in a 5.5 gallon tank would YOU do with a betta? If you were given a choice?

My water parameters SO FAR are 7.5 ph, no ammonia, no nitrites, no nitrates. With sponge filter and heater.
