  1. How do I change the SV? I never touched it @Streetwise That video shows where it finds the inkbird..I don't even get to that part.. is it being connected via blue tooth?
  2. @Streetwise followed the steps 4 times.. it gives me this message: Devise is not responding check demerit points and re try 1) check the device has bee reset and the indicator is blinking quickly 2) Check if its is a 2.4 GHz Wi Fi 3) Verify Wi-Fi password I hit re try.. and no go @ARMYVET See current readings from the probes. NOTE..they are not connected to the heaters. I have the heaters plugged into another power cord.. I set them at 77 just to see if they work first.. and I have now resorted to having a beer during this process.
  3. @ARMYVET so you want me to set the heaters at 85 (both of them) then unplug them and put them into the temp controller? and that is what is going to stop that P message? @Streetwise I am in the settings now what? it does not have a lot of options from what I can see App preferences, Account , Legal and leave us feedback
  4. @Streetwise I have the app on my phone.. but not sure where to find the settings you need me to find..
  5. I set them to that parameter??? the only number I see right now is 77 right now.. What should I set the probs at? I can't set my thermometer's either.. because they are plugged into the regulator. I bought the VivoSun ones
  6. @ARMYVET So is this what I should do? TS1 85 TS 2 84 AH 80 AL 73 Continious heating time?? Not sure what this should be its ZERO right now.. but should it be 6 hrs or more? CA (temp calibration is ??? What do I set this as? Unit F The instructions suck.. so I must be doing something wrong
  7. right now its at 0 what should I set it at? Should I put it 6 hours?? @Streetwise see below [edited image out] BGW 320 from AT&T
  8. @ARMYVET see below: If I want to keep the tank at 78 what do I set the rest of the parameters at? @Streetwise I have AT & T 1G Fiber so I am trying to figure out what the GHz is??? I tried to look on my router, and my app and can't find that info? @Streetwise its an inkbird ITC 306A WiFi Where would I find the router information? Can you tell I know nada about IT.. LOL
  9. @ARMYVET I have it all set up, and the SV is giving me a "P" I have read the instructions back and fourth and it says nothing about what a P means? I also for some reason can't get it set up to my WiFi and I have no idea if its a 2.4Gh2?? How would I know that? and it appears that it has over ridden my heaters, so I can't manually set them... so I have NO idea if they are heating or not.
  10. My big brother had a 75G with 3 baby piranha's. He had a HUGE filter, gravel and that was it. He would do these huge water changes every week. I remember the fish just having enough water to move in. I never saw water conditioners, or anything for that matter. They graduated to a 100G tank and the 75 became the feeder holding tank. I have no memory of discussion of the nitrogen cycle, water conditioner, etc. So I jumped in both feet and blind as a BAT! I started in the right direction with plants, etc. but did not have ANY of the RIGHT tools I needed. The large chain store did not tell me when I purchased my first aquarium kit, that I needed a test kit to ensure water quality. I figured, well he did it.. looked simple enough.. NOPE! Not at all. When I started losing my fish, and becoming frustrated I reached out to some FB peeps one who immediately took me under her wing and brought me here. I would show her EVERY test.. and she showed me how to read it, and what to do. She is the reason I didn't quit! 4 tanks in, it was that one person that did not make me feel like an IDIOT.. admitted that its a tricky hobby but if I stick to it I will love it. I think the buddy system ( which is what I feel this forum is) of people that don't SHAME but say.. okay here is what to do, and here is what to expect and here is what I have done in that situation. sharing lessons, tips, advise is KEY. Education and support is KEY! Went in blind but now I see. I may not know much, but I know A LOT more NOW than I did. Because of this forum, and going to the right places to get validated and sound information.
  11. I saw Cory mention that!! That is a great idea... I could dip them put then in the fridge for a bit to settle, and drop them in!
  12. @ARMYVET That is true.. I make mine a bit thicker.. but once the pleco's get at it.. bye.. LOL
  13. Okay @ARMYVET I have GOT to see this fish room now ... I am jelly 😁 OH WOW!! I love it!! I MUST find a way to have a pond!! I MUST!!!
  14. My pleco's would not eat the solient green alone. So I mixed it with the morning wood, and they love it.. BUT.. does freezing it make it last a bit longer and make less of a mess? Is there a better way of dehydrating it beside the 24 hr in an oven directions on the bottle? I also add vitachem to my mix as well.
  15. Dare I ask how many tanks are in your fish room @ARMYVET?? If I was still in Canada, my basement would have made a PERFECT fish room.. oh well.. no basements here.. but that didn't seem to stop me from having 4 tanks though.. LOL
  16. @ARMYVET You keep your house at 80.2! I would die! (well maybe burst into flames).. If it was a fish room, I would be in there with shorts and tank top .. LOL. I am Canadian, and can handle cold (I am a wimp now living in the south for 14 yrs), but I don't like to be hot in a house. The LFS I go to he keeps that place at 80 or so.. and I DIE in there.. the windows are steamed up.. LOL But I totally get what your saying though. If I had a pond, I would not have to heat it either. I have one outside in the screen porch, with no fish in it.. and even when the temp drops.. it got as gold as 65 so maybe a little itty bitty heater for that small rare instance..
  17. This is WHY I love this forum! Everyone has so much experience that sometimes online reading, etc. does not offer! off to Amazon I go! Thank again! @Atitagain I am going on Amazon to get them now! Thank you!!!!! Right now my house is BLACK! its storming like crazy over here .. and now I NEED a sweater!
  18. @ARMYVET and @Guppysnail HA! a ACO video that I HAVE NOT seen.. who knew! I got what your pitching! 2 100's is where it is.. and to get ready for anything that "may" happen to my 20G high.. I will get 2 50s for that one! You guys ROCK! I am all over it.. and will look for heaters on Amazon. My LFS is out of small ones.. he only has 300 or larger ones in stock.
  19. @ARMYVET Order placed 🙂 on the one you recommended !! I am in North Carolina, which is why I have my house at 98. I tell people to bring a sweater because I am not dropping the temp.. LOL.. I hear you on the heater.. Now.. here is another thing I heard.. The smaller the heater the harder it will have to work to heat the tank (esp if a larger tank). Like a AC unit if small and the space it has to cool is larger than its capacity it has to work harder to cool the space. So, should I have 2 100's or 2 150's?
  20. @ARMYVET I am looking at the Inkbirds now.. do you recommend the single probe or the dual probe for my 40G??
  21. What brand of heaters do you guys use? I mean there is only 1000 of them out there! The reviews are all over the place! My LFS is having a hard time getting stock of heaters. They sell Eheim Jager heaters. Do any of you have recommendations for brands you have tried and like.. ?
  22. @Guppysnail okay great! I keep all the tanks at the same temp.. 78 ish.. my 20G had guppies, cory's, ottos and mystery snails.. thank you SOOOO much! I will order the inkbird one you showed.. I have the green one.. but it will serve as a good back up. 1 thing I learned being a nurse, is I keep EVERYTHING I need in stock at all times. So I have a bin FULL of heaters, sponge filters, air stones and thanks to @Colu a bin full of a broad spectrum of medications. most LFS are having a hard time getting meds these days.. so I ordered and stock piled to have a range of meds to handle whatever might come my way. I have dropped the temp in the 40 gallon a bit to 77-78 (it is at 78.2 now) and everyone is doing fine! Thank goodness!
  23. @Guppysnail EXACTLY!! my house is 68 year round.. Okay.. so what would be the best temp to keep my community tank at? Should I keep it more cooler than 78? @Guppysnail I also have the cheap inkbird and it has a plug for cool and one for heat.. how do you calibrate it for the cooler side?
