golfstronger
I love big rock decorations in my tanks. They get brown and green growth all over. Should I be taking out rocks to clean them? If so, how often and with what do I clean them? Thanks.
Daniel
The rocks will develop a nice patina of bacteria over time. This is very healthy for the ecosystem of your aquarium. I don't think I have ever cleaned my rocks because 'prettier' rocks were nowhere near as attractive as a healthy aquarium.
H.K.Luterman
I love big rocks too! They look the best all covered in algae, imo. I never clean mine, I just sort of brush them off with a hand when I do water changes if I see mulm on them.
Tanked
A stiff brush if you must. There are exceptions, but a nice clean rock looks like what it is: a rock in an aquarium. An aged rock looks like it belongs there. Luv the biplane btw. It would not look nearly as good if it was in showroom condition!
