plants for 20 gallon long

Since I just got a new 20 gallon long, I would love a plant that covers that entire back wall of the tank. Beginner friendly, any plants that would do the job?

a handful of valesenerias could get that done. tall plant that shoots out runners as it grows and spreads. takes moderate light and some fertalizer.

If you want something tall and will spread on its own, vallisneria would be good, I would stay away from jungle val in a 20 long unless you want leaves that reach across the surface from one end to the other. I would go with a corkscrew or Italian val. If you want something different, pogostemon stellatus octopus would grow tall, but you would have to pinch off stems and plant to have it grow more.

For a 20 long I would recommend stem plants instead of val.  They will withstand being pruned much better in that tank.  Water wisteria, bacopas, or rotalas should work.
