Substrate Sifters

Thanks to suggestions from @Daniel, @ForestJenn, and others, I finally picked up a set of sifters. I just used them to separate sand from gravel, for some mixed substrate that I removed a while ago. The sand was still a little wet, so it needs to dry before I shake it thru. I have more plans for these.

I bought my set originally to separate eco-complete substrate from sand I had in a previous tank.

It takes three grades to separate the layers.

I will not be using the mixed sand again.

You're talking substrate sifters and I'm thinking Geophagus or Malaysian Trumpet Snails, but you're talking about the inanimate kind. I far prefer the living types. They may not be as precise, but they're more fun to watch.
