Munkyaquatix
Hey guys just stripped one of my holding cichlids and put her eggs in the ziss egg tumbler there seems to be a little specs of food in the tumbler as well will this cause my eggs to fungus? FrostiesFishes
Do you often pull eggs at that stage ?
Munkyaquatix
Honestly first time.usually put female in her own tank but right now we have no room.So we figure give the tumble a try.she was getting harassed so we thought it would be best
Administrators Cory Posted November 12, 2020 Administrators Share Posted November 12, 2020 I haven't really had that problem. it could cause them fungus but not sure on the odds. shouldn't be too had to flush out the stuff from it though as the eggs are much heavier than the debris. Munkyaquatix
Thank you @Cory I appreciate the feed back
FrostiesFishes
It could cause them to fungus, I normally wait a week or so to pull the fry from the female. That way they are wrigglers and you dont have to worry about stuff like that.
Munkyaquatix
Very good point.I guess the excitement of seeing her hold being impatient and wanting to use the tumbler got the best of me😅.I ended up using air line tubing to siphon the crud out lol
FrostiesFishes
Yeah pulling eggs is just to much work for me and I feel like pullin wigglers/fry is the same result just less work. But it’s hard to actually know if you’re losing eggs in that first week.
