William Lynch
Just purchased 6 ember tetras to start a new tank. Will it be ok to add more to the school later on or will the existing embers school more on their own?
Odd Duck
Embers are very tolerant of adding more later and are happiest in a larger school. Edited September 14, 2021 by Odd Duck
lefty o
tetra's generally have no issues with adding new members.
William Lynch
Thanks! I am hoping to have a school of 20 or more at some point. Gotta start slow though!
lefty o
good plan to stock up a little at a time. gives the tank time to adjust to the new bio load.
Del
Did the same with my school of ember tetras, it wasn’t a problem at all. The only way to keep them apart was the colour difference they had. Also the difference in colour faded away over time.
