So I got a couple aquarium coop heaters recently, and I figured since I now have the amazing technology of warmth, I would add a new member to the invert tank: vampire shrimp!

He/she is an awesome blue color, and after drip acclimating has now taken up residence in the tank. It's awesome to watch it wave its little fan hands. Hopefully it gets comfortable. I know they are shy. It is currently under a rock cave near the front of the tank.

Can a vampire (shrimp) and an assassin (snail) be roommates? Yes apparently. This is the first I've seen them interact. There was an "over zealous" cleaning incident where Vampirella accidentally shoved Shelly a little while attempting to clean off her shell. They made up and went their own ways.

Shelly the assassin moved back to the minnow tank, so say hello to my new ivory mystery snail: pearl!

They are too dang cute and I wanted a slightly more noticeable/active center piece invert for this tank. Vampy shrimp is super cool but mostly hangs out in one place or another waving at me.

Things different with this snail vs my previous/first mysteries:

-Got this from a reputable online store instead of petco

-constant 75F tank

-crushed coral in the substrate

-no dang planaria!

Wish me luck. She/he seemed to perk up pretty quickly.

Haven't posted in a while but things are ok. Vampirella the vampire shrimp had a successful molt and is still doing well. Earl the mystery snail is crawling all over and putting on size. The cherry shrimp colony seems to be thriving.

My hornwort was slowly dying, I think from the consistent 75F temp, so I pulled it all out. I added some water spangles for dangling root action. My Amazon sword also put out a runner, which I tucked down to the substrate and is now growing two new plants. Added root tabs for them. 👍

Update time. Bad and good. Unfortunately my vampire shrimp's second molt was not successful, and it passed away. I don't know what changed since the previous successful molt.

However, everything else seems to be thriving, including a third mystery snail. An olive jade to join the ivory and magenta. I found them all hanging out on one of the trees today.

There's also still lots of cherry shrimp as well as some pink ramshorn snails.

My Amazon sword is sending multiple shoots out that have been growing new plants.

Been a little while. I recently got a Japanese trap door snail, and I think she came pregnant. Today I spotted what I believe are two babies, who don't match the appearance of any other snails in the tank and look basically like little versions of the big momma.

Any thoughts @Guppysnail (or others)?

First pic is the big one, other two are suspected babies.
