This probably won’t be popular but I use ramshorn and trumpet snails. Removing the leaves will probably just have it grow on and new growth. Real Carbon may help. I have used a different brand before I learned about.

From what I understand REAL Carbon is bad for my ADFs.

if you find out it is  algae I have not seen any issues. If I have some algae normal on some   Anubis I use a  syringe with hydrogen peroxide that can be a killer or savory. I don’t have exact answer. I have used excel but easy carbon and excel are really more of an algaecide. I used it last week and half, in one of my tanks and test Parameters before and one week after everything was the same. I’ll send a pic of my tank it is full of moss and a some different swords and Anubis I’ll send some pics some you can see. There is still nice algae and I use moss as ground cover  and on the “trees” lots of algae one the cypress in the middle that the discus love. The tank has been setup for 16 years. Sorry that it’s a little cloudy I had my grabber in there and stored things up I wasn’t planning on taking pics.

Did I misunderstand I apologize. I thought you meant dwarf frogs. Remove the plant dip in carbon solution and rinse and replace plant in aquarium. It what I do
