Aubrey
I have recently been wanting to get a feeding ring for my tank to have open space in the floating plants. The ones that I found available online were not to my liking e.g. the color, size, or the price. I've tried the air line tube DIY and could never get it perfectly round, flat, and air tight. I later noticed that deli container lids and lips had a similar shape as some acrylic rings I saw online, only with some extra plastic attached. That lead me to this simple cheap DIY solution. 6
ange
That's a cool solution! I ended up using poly tubing + a lighter for mine but now I want to try this and compare.

FriendlyLoach
I love that idea, I did something like that to make a breeder basket.
Kat_Rigel
I recently realized that airline tubing fits PERFECTLY into the lip of those gladware plastic tupperware containers. Makes a great floating snail incubator! I love it when cheap DIY things work well!
Seized
I prefer to use airline tubing in a ring and possibly a suction cup on the side.
