devind0446
I was thinking about doing a 20 gallon with shell dwellers at the bottom and guppies at the top. Is it possible to combine African Cichlids with Community Fish like that? Would they still be able to breed? Has anyone tried out a similar combo? Administrators Cory Posted September 17, 2020 Administrators Share Posted September 17, 2020 I've done this setup before with multies and black moscow guppies. The multies will definitely eat any babies that go low. I used a 29 gallon tank with a couple big rocks, with anubias on them, and then the shell bed sat on the floor to keep the multies low and the guppies higher in the tank. RyanR
That's good to hear. My son wants multis in his 20 long he's getting for his birthday in November. He's been asking me what else he can put in there with the multis.

RovingGinger
I keep my female cull guppies in with them and they seem to work as dither fish to make the multies a little less shy. 1
Robin
This is a great idea. I think I may try this as well.
AJE
Would the guppies not eat an baby multis?
StevesFishTanks
multifasciatus can be pretty good defenders, they are also great at darting into their shell, it seems like they never miss
