Alec
Does anyone dye their backyard goldfish pond? If so, what do you use?
CT_
Ive never heard of this but a bunch of tannins from wood and leaves (like catappa) would work and be possibly beneficial. Or you could encourage a green algae bloom to get green water.
Alec
Thanks for the tips. I was thinking of a Blu dye to give it a cleaner look.
GardenStateGoldfish
I would stay away from dying it, I have never heard of that before and I couldn't imagine the fish enjoying that very much, But I do try to keep green water as that is extremely beneficial for goldfish, especially the fry. Sunlight + fertile hard water makes green water in just a few days.
ChefConfit
There are commercially available pond dyes. The tractor supply near me sells a few different ones. Never had heard of it before I found it there. If I were you I'd Google it and do some research on them. I don't see this forum being a good source for info on it though because most of us prefer a more natural look.
