Cory posted a video on his Facebook of a rescaped tank with this fern looking plant in the background. Does anyone know what plant it is?
-
I'm wanting to move some to another tank.

I have a tank with some Val and I was unsure the best way to propagate it so I can move some to another tank. Best tips?
-
And this is large enough (grain size) for plants to root and grow in? I know if you go too fine the roots have a hard time growing.
-
I'm considering setting up a Blue shrimp tank and I want a lighter substrate that will be good for plant roots. What do you all use?
-
I figured the water might have played a part in it. Thanks everyone for your input and help.
-
@Cory Yeah that's what I did today. May be my water also.
-
@lefty o I always try that but somehow manage to disconnect it. I do have them in 10 gallons so there is not a lot of room to work.

Does anyone else have issues with the co-op airline tubing getting "hard" once in the water for a while. Once it does get harder it makes it difficult to re-attach the tubing to the sponge filter. Is this something that just needs to be replaced after awhile or is there a way to prevent this?

@Chris Im not sure I know what LED black box you're talking about. Do you have a link?
-
@Chris Its a 29 gallon

@Chris Yeah, right now I just have an Aqueon planted light. When I set up my tank I was just going to focus on fish and didn't want to mess with coral. Now I want to get into coral, but two fish stores have told me id need a reef light to grow the corals. I would hate to spend the money on corals and have them die, so I think I'm eventually just going to spend the money and get a reef light. I too have some macro algae in my tank that grow just fine with the Aqueon light, just not sure about the actual corals.
-
I thought that would be the case. Thank you.

I know this is a long shot as I assume there was little to no testing done on this aspect of the light (understandably so), but is the co-op light strong enough to grow corals in saltwater? @Zenzo @Cory

I might do two smalls - one in each corner.

Super excited. I set up my Muck bucket pond a few weeks ago to hold my pond plants (hornwort and frog bit) over the winter. Wanted to add some fish so it wasn't empty. I went to my "local" fish store yesterday and got 5 dwarf platys. Today I looked in and have seen Fry! That's some good luck if I've ever seen any.

This was my main concern -- lack of water movement since it is a longer tank.

What sponge filter should I use on a 20gal long? Should I use ONE medium filter or TWO small filters?
-
@Hally M. Yeah. I think it was a combination of over feeding and maybe egg bound. But She's doin great!

@Hally M. Yeah we might need to change her diet up. And she does seem to be getting thinner. And no interaction with male bettas. @Hally M. Yeah we might need to change her diet up. And she does seem to be getting thinner. And no interaction with male bettas.

@AnimalNerd98 Okay thank you. And she is active. She will swim around all the decorations. When I come up to the tank to look at her and tap on the rim she will come swimming to me. She also was eager to eat the pea.

@xXInkedPhoenixX I'm not seeing much of a change. She seems to be a little slimmer. I did go ahead and add a dose of Ich X, Maracyn, and ParaCleanse. The only thing she has been fed in the past 5 days is a pea. She does appear to have a white spot where she would normally poop. Is this normal or part of the constipation? Below are the updated pictures of her.

@xXInkedPhoenixX Yeah, I don't see any pineconing on her. (This is my girlfriends betta and I have seen pineconing on quite a few others) I have her in a 5.5 gallon tank with 5 gallons of water. I put in aquarium salt at a rate of 1 Tbsp per 5 gallon. The coop article on salt said 1 Tbsp per 3 gallons, but I didn't want to over do it.

Is my betta constipated? I put her in a quarantine tank with a small dose of salt and a catappa leaf to help with the constipation. I also gave her a pea. She seems to be swimming normally, but just has a big belly. Thanks for the help.
