Kinesthesia
Is it possible to buy high grade shrimp (particularly neo) online? I'm curious how people develop competition quality shrimp, and I assume it begins with finding superior quality stock. Thanks
H.K.Luterman
If you look around on Aquabid, you can find hobbyist shrimp breeders who have been working on a line for years and are proud of their quality. Always look at pictures of what they're selling, and get yourself acquainted with how shrimp are graded. And of course to keep up quality, you will most likely have to do your own culling now and then. Here's an example of cherry shrimp grading:
Daniel
I was very happy with the Cherry Shrimp I purchased from Aqua Huna last year. And as @H.K.Luterman points there are many fine seller's on AquaBid also.

PlaneFishGuy
I was really happy with cherry shrimp from "The Shrimp Farm" They were sold as "Grade AA Red Cherry Shrimp." The color was great and I had no loss during shipping and only l out of 10 died since adding to my tank 2 months ago. They are breeding like crazy. Please note this is based on one purchase. binkysmom
also check to see if you have any local breeders. I'm very lucky as there are local breeders in my area that have a lot of different types of shrimp and different grades. I find locally breed shrimp do better for me than buying online and having them shipped.
Daniel
Despite the fact I mentioned Aqua Huna and AquaBid in my post above, it better to stay away from recommending specific online sellers as this could violate the guidelines about discussing other aquarium related companies either positively or negatively.
