  1. So true. My pair will sit just out of reach and whine constantly for attention. "You must come to me and give me a scritches hooman"
  2. I finally found a place to put all my ACO stickers. This is a tote to store all my chemicals and spare bits.
  3. I have a canister filter (Fluval 107) on my 14 gallon cube so I'd say not overkill.
  4. I planned on dosing Easy Green and have an inexpensive light ordered. I think I'm going to drop water sprite trimmings in there too.
  5. As do mine. The strips show a light orange when I use them before co2 starts so I got worried and used my API master kit which read 7.0. The rest of the tests on the strip are very accurate.
  6. The Java Ferns in my 14 gallon tank have so many new sprouts that I'm thinking of setting up a 15 gallon plastic tote with a heater and sponge filter and floating the sprouts and growing them out. Will that work?
  7. I just made it so I'm not sure yet 😅
  8. That's exactly what I used lol
  9. Last week I added three Amano Shrimp to my 14 gallon to hopefully clean up some of my diatom issue. I hardly ever see them lol! Every once in a while I'll see one farming the substrate but most of the time, nowhere to be found! 🤣
  10. I have dropped my Fluval 3.0 light into the tank with no ill effects, extremely durable.
  11. I absolutely hate the lids included with the Aqueon frameless cubes so I ordered a few sheets of acrylic and some hinges from Tap Plastics and made my own. The handle is 3d printed.
  12. There was a gentleman on youtube that printed three benchies. One he left on his desk, another he put in a jar of water on his desk, and the third he buried in his backyard. A year later he examined all three and there was no degradation in any of the prints. PLA needs heat and specialized bacteria to biodegrade.
  13. While my community tank is high tech, the Betta tank is not. I'm so happy with how the plants are doing.
  14. I just added a few more pandas to my tank. I now have five pandas and two peppered, they're much less shy now, it's awesome.
  15. Spraying the print with polyurethane makes any of the materials "food safe" as long as it is completely cured, The thing to keep in mind about food safe filaments is that while the filaments are food safe, the prints typically are not. There are still spaces between the layers that will collect bacteria and might cause illness eventually. In the aquarium hobby though, that's a benefit 🙂
  16. I really like the Aqueon 6 gallon frameless cube I picked up. Blinky seems to really like it too.
  17. I drip acclimate any new critter I put in either tank. I use an ACO specimen container and a length of airline tubing with a valve on it to control flow. It works great.
  18. Baby Java Fern? I have so many I'm not sure what I'm going to do with them.
  19. I totally agree that my plants don't need Co2, I wanted to see what they'd do with Co2. As you can see, the growth is rather explosive.
  20. The poor lil dude didn't make it The other two are fine and no ammonia or nitrite in the water. I bagged up the corpse to take it back to PetSmart for a replacement. 😪
  21. I'm starting to believe the cory was just playing a cruel April Fools joke on me.
  22. Just to add my two cents, I tested ammonia with an ACO strip and after swooshing it around for 30 seconds it was clean. I let it sit unintentionally for a few minutes and it turned dark green so in a panic I tested with my API Master Kit which read zero. So yeah, letting them sit too long might give a false reading.
