No one could answer with 100% certainty. In 15 years of fishkeeping. I've never quarantined a plant, and I've never seen a plant bring disease to a tank. That being said, I've never willingly took a plant form a tank with say Ich and put it into another tank with fish.

When you meant disease does worms count?

  2. I have 1 empty 3 gallon.

    I have a 4 gallon Betta tank.

    I have a 29 gallon with 3 guppies and 1 SAE.

    I have a 5.5 gallon with 7 baby guppies.

I have a 10 gallon geriatric tank that I know is overstocked and the schools of fish are slow but I do a lot of water changes, the tank is with 3 Platy's, 1 Indian Glass fish that is 4 years old, and 1 about 2 year old Zebra Danio.

I have another 10 gallon with 3 guppies which I had to remove from the 5.5 when they had babies.

I take care of my moms 5.5 gallon betta tank.

I also take care of my homeroom teachers 4 gallon betta tank.

  3. I am very sorry your fish died, that looks like fungis I would treat with API Fin and body cure. Also you could use epson salt but I don’t know much about it you will probably have another fellow member help you on that, I have only used it one time when my molly fish had popeye but I don’t even know if that worked. I hope you have more luck with your fish next time, I hate to lose fish I know how you feel.

I’ll let others with more experience expand on the difference btw detritus worms and planeria but just regurgitating what I’ve read, planeria glide on the surface of the glass while detritus worms wiggle in the water column or the glass. Planeria have a pointed head and wider on one end than the other while detritus worms are uniform shape. I caught a video of what I believe is a detritus worm from my tank, but I didn’t realize that I can’t upload videos here. I’ll keep trying to get a good picture of one but so far none are turning out. I had a hard time seeing them in your picture too.

if detritus worms, what I’ve heard to get rid of them is to gravel vac or see if you’re over feeding.

I know I’m not over feeding because I just got the fish on Saturday and I barely feed them. Any other ideas?

  5. So I tried to get the best picture possible of these worms in my 29 gallon. I don’t even know how I got them in my tank nor what type they are. They look like Detruis worms but they move so quick it makes me think they are planaria. I have big ones and super small ones, any ideas of what they are, and what I can do to get rid of them.

    Thanks,

  6. It’s a aquaneat light so it’s kinda bright and yes I am breeding guppies so I guess algae isn’t bad. I found the driftwood washed up on my pond it’s been out of water for a long time. I’ll send you another picture of my tank to show you the brightness of the lights. Will corydoras catfish be ok with SAE?

It one of the down side of fish keeping is irresponsible people releaseing fish in to the wild with out thinking of the consequences

Yes most the time it is with plecos people get small plecos for there small tanks and they don't know that it is a common pleco or another giant species of pleco and they release it into the wild and it is not their native spot nor is it a good inviorment for them.

  8. So I have had my tank cycling for at least 2 weeks and 5 days is it ok to get fish tommorow. I was planning on getting the BN pleco tommorow and 3 guppies tommorow and maybe get the Harlequin Rasboras in two weeks do you guys think the tank is fine I am about to check the water levels now.
