Hi everyone! I’ve been in the fish hobby for about 5 years or so. My last betta died of old age last year so I’ve just been keeping my tank going with plants and 1 mystery Snail. Well I decided to start a shrimp tank and have been doing research for months. I got my first batch of 20 in yesterday of Neocardinia Davidi assorted and 20 cherry. One of my Cherry died of the white ring of death last night. I feel horrible about it and I’m not sure how to prevent the others. Several of them molted last night and only 1 didn’t make it. Any advice? The only other “issue” I’ve found is the cholla wood seems to have left a film on the water? Which according to various YouTube’s that’s good for shrimp but I want to make sure.

Blue is absolutely gorgeous! I love betta fish too! They are so smart. I want to make a betta tank next probably. OOORRRR I will move my shrimp to a bigger 20 gal long then make the 6.5 gallon my betta tank. I want either a dragon scale betta or a koi galaxy betta.

I am new here too! I have been keeping small 5 gallon fish tanks for 5 years trying to work on learning how to keep plants alive. I have neocardina davidi shrimp coming in tomorrow for my current 6.5 gallon tank with fresh plants and all sorts of stuff. I also got a big order of shrimp food from Aquarium co-op coming in this week too! Can't wait to see some pictures of your tanks! 🙂

I think he is adorable! 😍I do not know much about axolotl but yours is very cute and I am loving how you set up the tank. Do they normally need big tanks and/or bigger ones?
