  1. Hello I currently have a 20 gallon long that I'm stocking with clown killis, shrimp and cpds. I've considered adding black tiger Dario too but I'm hesitant because of the live food requirement. I can get grindal worms but I've heard they along with other worms can cause bloating long term. For a beginner ( this is my first fish tank), would you even recommend darios? If so what live foods that are good for the dario would be easiest to culture.
  2. Congrats on betta unimaculata success. You said that you had bought 5 in an earlier post but currently, it looks like you only have 3 adults. As someone who wants to keep unimaculata complex in the future, I'm curious what happened to the other two, hopefully they are alive and well, and if not, what happened.
  3. Appreciate it! I will do a crayfish only setup then. I think I'll start with the water box 15 gallon which has the footprint of 24x12 and start with 6 cpos? I think I'll add a rock pile like this tank to add some hiding spots.
  4. Anyone have experience with keeping dwarf orange crayfish in a colony? It seems they only live for 1-2 years so I might need some breeding going. What's a good tank size to keep a colony in. I might also want to keep some medaka and/or cpds in there for the midwater and topwater but I'd be fine making the tank cpo only as well.
  5. Yea the turquoise ones and most regular jewels in the hobby are most likely hybrids. Outside of the 5 stars, moanda, and exsul, there aren't too many common pure bred jewels
  6. Exsul aren't a hybrid. They are a distinct species only found in lake turkana. You should try them out!
  7. If you're interested might be a good time to get back into jewels. Imo exsul might be the prettiest jewel species and their ability seems to be peaking in the USA. Probably one of the prettiest hemichromis
  8. Thinking of either a pair or a group of exsul jewels (so they control each other's fry) in a 40 breeder. Are there any plants that would work with them?
  9. Hey! Any update on the bettas? Curious if the antuta are still a colony. I've heard differing things about their aggression
