  1. Just recently posted something similar to your topic. all I have is shrimp and my baby shrimp and my 10 gallon tank. I'm scared to put anything in my tank because of my baby shrimp in there and I have no clue what to put in there to eat the planaria and not my baby shrimp. Following your post;
  2. I'm interested in getting something that can tame the planaria in my tank. I used no planera. I even stop feeding for a week. In my shrimp tank that I have about 2 dozen shrimp babies in. But I have planaria to there not that bad now still they are in there.. And I need a fish, Kuhli Loaches, or Bristlenose Pleco. In my tank to help eat them but not my babies. If anyone have any clue what is safe in my shrimp tank with dozens of baby shrimp. Please let me know... Thank you
  3. How long should I run the new sponge filter before removing the old box filter?
  4. I love my shrimp tank. Out of my other 2 tanks. I only have cherry red shrimp. I don't try to crossbreed with other shrimp. That's just for me.
  5. I currently have a box filter in my 10 gallon. With a nano sponge filter. And I want to remove the box filter and put in another sponge filter instead in my tank. Can I just simply do that with out my tank crashing?
  6. Wanted to know if API general cure safe to use in my shrimp tank. Or what types of medicine that I can use if I ever need for parasites or bacteria in a planted shrimp tank. Without having to use a hospital tank either where that I would have to pull each and every individual shrimp out to quarantine. I would like to do the whole entire tank at once. **Those are the meds that I am really interested in to know about. Thank goodness I don't have any issues in my Shrimp tank. But I would like to have and know about if ever anything do ever come up that I have available at hand when needed. Thank you!
  7. It's a mix of fire red and cherry shrimp
  8. I had an issue last couple of weeks ago. It's been resolve in my tank. I'm just proud of it 😌. Just wanted to share
  9. Welcome 🤗.. I'm new to the fish keeping and shrimp keeping hobby so far so good for me. I had a couple of bumps since. Still loving this hobby.
  10. I had used this product. In my shrimp tank. Cause I was getting look like black hair Alge in my tank. And realized that it's harmful to shrimp. Did an a water change right away soon as I realized what I did. And yes I lost just 1 shrimp. Thank goodness it was just 1 and not all my cherry Shrimp. Still getting more cherry shrimp coming soon for this tank. Realizing what I did. So after a water change I did a black out of my tank for a day and a half. Feed them today a picture while eating. And seem they are doing ok. Sorry the picture loaded upside down...
  11. 10 gallon planted tank. With 1 Betta an 9 ghost shrimp. Is there any other fish or a schooling fish if any what kind that I can put into this tank or leave it be?
  12. I already have Cappa leaf in there. And my kh and ph been same since..
  13. It depending on how big is your dining room area with all those tanks. measure your area and tanks of what you have. Unless you're planning on getting new tanks and just adding it to your dining room area. My suggestion is measurements and deciding what type of shelving to place your tanks on. Draw yourself an Outlook of how you want your room to be or look like and go from there.
  14. This tank is finally cycled now. I want to put cherry shrimp or the blue shrimp in here.. This is my parameters in my tank would this be suitable for either one of these shrimp that I want to get.. Ammonia 0 Nitrites 0 Nitrates 0.5ppm Ph 6.7 Kh 2 drop 35.8ppm Gh 4 drops 71.6ppm
  15. Thank you! I still been doing 50% water change. I don't see as many as I use to now. This tank is almost cycled. That gives me the opportunity to get as much as I can out of the tank. ☺️.. I know I may not get them all out. When I am ready to put fish. I'm hoping that is just food for them. And nothing harmful. And they are microscopic like that its hard to get any kind of good pictures...
  16. Moving on the walls of the tank it doesn't swim it more like sinks or floats in the current that's in the tank.
  17. I am in the process of cycling this 5 gallon planted a tank. And it's almost fully cycled. And I noticed something white look like a DOT, microscopic moving. I can still see it and it moves fast along my plastic tank. It's not jumping, it just moves fast. No clue what it is, if it's a bug or a parasite. Plus I don't know if it's in the sand because my substrate is white colored sand. Now I don't know if I can use general cure or Panacur maybe it can kill off whatever it is. If it is a parasite. What if it's not a parasite and it's a bug what should I do. Should I treat it for both. Any suggestions would be so helpful right now. Cause, I do want to put some shrimp in this tank and maybe some nano fish and it's already starting off on the wrong foot. Recycling process was going good almost there and this happens.. 😱 And my camera can't really pick them up. Sorry about the bad picture it's all I can get. Then I can't put a video on this forum.
  18. The update. They are doing well. But I seem to only see 4 at a time and not 5.. 😂... I'll keep checking. And my betta she see them and there fast and then she doesn't. It's funny to see them all together interact with each other.
  19. Hi I don't want pest nails in my 5 gallon tank. I already have Christmas moss, Subwassertang and spiky Moss in my tank. They will grow with time. If they reproduce great. If not that's ok to. I also have a hide in there and driftwood. They should be fine.
  20. This is a 5 gallon planted tank. 1 female betta, 1 golden mystery snail. I just got 5 ghost shrimp today. I drip acclimate them for 2 hours before placing them into the tank. I'll know for sure tomorrow after work. Keep you posted on how they all are doing and getting along....
  21. My first tank that I cycled. I used fish food and Fritz 7, took 35 days to be cycled. My second tank I'm using Dr. Tim ammonia and there are beneficial bacteria. I already have nitrates on the first week. For me Dr. Tim's...
  22. That's a very good point. I have a 40 gallon I will be trying to sell it locally for whatever amount that I can get for it soon.. But I will clean it up first. People likes a good clean tank and if it has a lot of beneficial bacteria most of it dies off over time, I think so. That's why we run our filters in some way to keep the beneficial bacteria alive.
  23. In your photos he doesn't look to bad a all. You caught it early. So I would just do 2 to 3 days in a row and watch him to see any improvement. If not just use 1 of those medicine and follow the instructions. Hopefully that helps.
  24. Yes. Through that whole process condition your water and dilute the Epsom salt. Before placing your Betta. Everything else looks good.
