@Chick-In-Of-TheSea about how long should I feel them the egg for? They are coming up on a week old.

What I did is I gave egg yolk and then some other food that sinks (ie: algae wafers, crab cuisine, calcium).  When they were first starting out, they would only eat on the walls. Once they started eating things from the bottom, I discontinued the egg yolk.

What I think helped encourage them to go to the bottom was adding a little java moss to the breeder box.  That's a food source for them too, and they would seek that out and attach to it.

It takes us nothing to cross our living room. It’s quite a trek for an ant though.

That's why some of the snail breeders suggest a breeder box.  It's a small area for them to travel to find something to eat.   Plus it is a smaller thing for us humans to clean as well.

no no no.... Just glass storage shelf for fish and things.  A tank looks nice, this is PURELY for storage for later use. elswhere. in a bigger tank. somewhere nice. with fun stuff to make it look awesome.

I just want to see the quarantine fishies’ symptoms. I can’t do that in the tote. It’s not fair to be netting them every time. This is purely for scientific observation.

LOL..... ya'll are just being feisty.

I definitely don't recommend more tanks!!!!! There's a long story to that and it's something I had to go through and I think it's normal for a lot of hobbyists. MTS is so real especially seeing all the Cory vlogs and all the fun stuff he does.  Smaller tanks are so easy to pile up!

I think I am always going to limit myself to 3. at most. At best, 2.

I would encourage you all to have healthy, open, up front conversations and no be sneaky with fish tanks! LOL.

Maybe what you want and need aren't the same thing!  I wanted a 55G, but I NEEDED a 75G.  See?

I’m not “adding” a tank though. I’m “replacing” a tote.. with a tank!

  4. Could they be hitchhiking snails? If so, you can either keep them or soak the plant in seltzer water overnight in a dark area, uncovered, but weighted down with something (ie: a spoon) to ensure it stays submerged. The carbon dioxide benefits the plant but will kill any creatures coming in on the plant.

  5. Cryptocorne and pogostemon require root tabs, as nutrients in the water column are not enough to feed them. Iron is also required. These plants can be found on the ACO online store and if you click on directions within the listing for the plant, it breaks down what nutrients it requires.

The water spangles may have died due to moisture from the lid. The tops of floaters generally need to remain dry or they will rot.

    Today’s progress… It’s my BIRTHDAY!

I had to move the Lily back a bit as it was pressed up against the glass. Trying to re-bury all the roots was a struggle, but I got most of them! The pic was taken just before I moved it. Hopefully I didn’t hurt it!

    Happy birthday! 🎂

@Guppysnail the snails, it is amazing how small they are when they are born, it will be nice to see  your future post of  them getting  bigger. And I bet their coloring will be awesome,

maybe it is a good thing I have to watch my numbers in my aquarium.  I remove the egg sacs .. Or I would have a whole house of aquariums and mystery and nitrite  snails would be in each tank ,,,

Fortunately the nerites won’t hatch. Those eggs require brackish water.

    1/64-1/16 tsp on 10-20 gallons.

It’s not harmful so super exactnesses are not a big issue.

Thanks. The calculator was coming up with 1.75 Tablespoons which sounds like a lot.

    (29 gal tank)

A tiny spoon came with the Kanaplex. I wonder what the measurement is on that little spoon. Hmm…

But my Spidey sense's are tingling and I bet you'll be starting one within 30 days. Mark this date!

My husband already told me NO more fish tanks! But my Aqueon forge stand has a spot on the bottom of it for a 5.5 gallon which I want to setup as a quarantine space. (Shh don’t tell.. I don’t think he will notice because it’s lower to the floor and there’s a table in the way. LOL!) The tote has been serving me for quarantine thus far but I have to net fish every time I want to examine their symptoms.
