I am not sure of your locale but Washington State freshwater fish are amazing. I once kept a tadpole madtom and a from what I understand weather loach (Misgurnus anguillicaudatus) with some 3 spined stickleback. Bonus if you have your own pointsource stream or pond nearby! Absolutely love that this resource has a captive care guide I'm in northern Alabama. I'd love to keep some madtoms, and we have all kinds of neat minnows and darters here.
