Janelle Hack
Hi, Can anyone tell me what kind of fish this is? It was in with a shrimp order I got in October, and it was so tiny I almost didn't see it. Now its about the size of an endler. Thanks in advance! Colu
I think it's a female guppy
Dawn T
Looks like a female guppy to me. Or possibly a female endler. Does the seller you bought shrimp from also sell either guppies or endlers?
Daniel
Looks a female Gambusia affinis, commonly known as 'Mosquito fish'. The tell-tale sign is the black bar through the eye. But if not Gambusia affinis she is some sort of native livebearer. 1
MAC
Maybe gambusia holbrooki. I have a few g. Affinis and non of the females have as much dark coloring in the gravid spot. Definitely looks like some type of mosquito fish though. Edited January 17, 2021 by MAC Grammer 1
