And planting tweezers and more root tabs. Lots of ands lol.So Q @Tony s, do I add root tabs and fertilizer BEFORE ADDING PLANTS. Or add after? Cleaned water before adding to bottle and then when I used the funnel, it got really clogged. And I didn’t get anything in there. So I just got a plastic bowl (if you don’t want cloudy water do not attempt 🙃) and put clean sand in, put bowl in very very slowly. But when I poured even as slow as I did, there was some serious cloudiness 😐. It got down there and it worked but the cloudiness, oh yeah it was cloudy. Ok I need to stop using the word cloudy 🤣. Anyway the water is u know cloudy but it worked! Here is a picture. And comparison of when the tank was setup, vs now. before adding more sand. And after. But sadly overnight, the root tabs came out (only 2) and are scattered around. Hopefully there will be no spikes in water quality numbers right? @Tony s, the ammonia nitrite and ph are the same. I feel like it is just sitting the same and will forever. Should I add more bacteria? Ok actually I should be patient. Patience for me…..is tough lol. But I guess that is apart of cycling. Whitecloud09 Posted July 2 Author Share Posted July 2 Nitrite is between 2 to 5 ppm. Yeah, the API test kit....it is hard to tell the difference from both of those numbers. I am really leaning towards these fish down below. I am not saying the cycle is almost over, but i am taking this time to do the planning during the cycle. Panda corys. Harqulin rasboras or guppies. A few honey gouramis. Shrimp and snails. To much? Have any ideas? On stocking and whatnot. Should i start testing for nitrates at all @Tony s? thx guys. Guppies can be a bit nippy so I might not do those. I might stop there and get used to them before adding anything else. But, it sounds good. Cool, thanks for more options, the schooling fish is the only thing idk about yet, rasboras, tetras… we’ll see! The honeys and pandas are pretty much final, especially the pandas, have been wanting those for a long time lol. Not putting them in my 10g, would be a cram, with all the decor lol. Rasboras like the pork chop or harlequin are probably better schoolers than cherry barbs which are schoalers. Great build thread and enjoy the ride! About 80% of all corys have been renamed. the panda cory is now the panda hoplisoma. pygmies are now pygmy gastroderms. also have various brochis, osteogasters, aspidoras, schleromystax. So they broke up the clades into different generic names. Gives them a tighter fit as to where they genetically belong. but confusing as heck to the normal person.
