Last April, Hank and Lucy spawned, and I actually was able raise several of fry.  A few went to @Beardedbillygoat1975, a few were sold at ye ol’ LPS, and I kept the three smallest, hoping for a female for Ricky.  Since the, I’ve half heartedly tried and failed to repeat.

Then, three days ago one of the three I kept, let’s call her Baby Girl, finally spawned.  Figuring it was her first attempt, and given they live in my BNP breeding tank, I just let her keep them.  No WAY they could raise the babies.  Not with 2 other angels and a mess of hungry plecos.  Welp, 3 days later, still hast most of the eggs/wrigglers and successfully moved them to a new leaf. 8910A428-E91F-4430-A781-9D58A7E1866C.jpeg.f279f6741d8bfecdca223d4dd90c16bc.jpeg

Here’s the problem: the other angels are still in the tank.  Baby Girl isn’t happy about it, so taking a poll -

should I move the other angels, or just keep on?

I'd just keep on - she will probably need a few practice runs to get it right anyways. Nice looking angels but raising frys can be a full time task as you well know given how frequently they breed. In my group when they bred - the hostilities wasn't too bad but some of the other angels would sneak in now and then and grab a few eggs or frys... but it really depends on specific fishes - as sometime they can be hyper aggressive and it can be more problematic.

In my experience with my Angels, the parents will defend the eggs and wigglers to no end. Then, they become free swimming. They will still defend them to no end, but the lights turn off and the next morning all the fry are gone.

If I want to raise Angels to sell I’ll pull and hatch/raise the eggs myself. If I don’t want to keep the spawn I’ll still usually pull it and toss the eggs to return the tank back to the peaceful place I want it to be vs. allowing it to become the thunder dome.

6 days later - definitely starting to look like angels.  But my snail population has exploded, the water-sprite floating in the tank is growing at an unprecedented rate, and pictures are becoming a challenge.  All good problems to have, but problems just the same.
