Dosing easy green at night

Do plants absorb nutrients at night? Sometimes when I get off work late, my lights have already gone out and I'm not sure if I should dose easy green at night or wait another day when the lights are on.

Doesn't matter when you dose. The important thing is just make sure to dose.

Shouldn't make any different what time you dose. I'm actually not sure what nutrients are absorbed at night. I know they consume oxygen. Growing happens during the light, but I"m not sure if they can take in some other nutrients during the down time.

So I’ve read from several articles that plants take up nutrients day and night and only utilize the nutrients during the “light” hours for photosynthesis.

i would think, even if they just absorbed nutrients during light hours (which i doubt is true), if you dosed ferts at night, the ferts would still be in the tank for the plants to use when the lights come on. i cant see any problem with dosing ferts at night.

Assuming plants don't feed at night, and being given the 2 choices of fertilizing late in the day or fertilizing at night, I'd dose at night. Reason being is they will feed soon after the light comes on and throughout the whole day.  Where as fertilizing mid day will give the plants a shortened day to feed.  Of course there is nothing scientific about this answer, just thought I'd put my 2 cents into this thread! 🤣
