After care for ich

I’ve been gone for 2 weeks and came back to a bad ich infection in my tank. Lost a few already and pumping them full of ichX as we speak. What’s a good secondary medication you’d follow up with?

Ammonia - .25-.5

nitrites - 0

Nitrates - 20

temp - 78°

I usually bump up the temp to ca. 80°-F or a tad higher. This speeds up the life cycle of ich. Then I make sure to gravel vac substrate because ich tomites lay low in gravel until attaching to fish. If your round of Ich-X doesn’t work… sometimes Kordon Ich treatment works. Always complete recommend dosage!

Ich can cause secondary bacteria infection caused by damage to skin caused by the ich  trophont I follow up with a course of maracyn @lmhicks101

I'd follow up with clean, ammonia-free water. Even though your level of ammonia is relatively small, it could cause issues, or exacerbate existing ones.
