Anubias bloom

I have an anubias on the back wall of my tank. I stuck it there about a year ago and just left it alone. Now it looks like it is going to bloom. I didn't even know they did that. How long do they last and is there anything I should do? Or do I just enjoy the show?

I started setting up my tank around New Years and a couple of the anubias I added during the first week of Jan were just coming into bloom when I got them. They’re both still going strong today (29th), algae aside.

Congratulations on a very happy anubias 🎉. I almost fell over the first time I seen it. I did not know they bloomed either. My anubias only bloom in one tank. It takes about a week from where yours are in the picture to open full bloom.  then about a week after they begin to slowly close. Mine hang around for about a month.

Another plant that's doing something new. (Different tank) My amazon sword has decided to send a shoot out with tiny new leaves that have broken the surface. The back of the lid is plastic and I can easily cut a notch for it to go through. Is this a bad idea? I don't know what Amazon swords do when this happens.

I've had two Ozelot swords send up bloom stalks; one of them several times.  I assume all swords are similar, but I'm not sure.  On mine the stalk will extend up out of the water, and have from five to seven nodes.  First they produce several white flowers, about 1-1/2" across, from each node.  As the blooming winds down leaves will appear at each node.

After blooming stops, I carefully bend the stem to get it below the water, though I don't know if that's necessary, or best.  Roots will appear after the nodes have produced several leaves and blooming is finished.  When the roots are several inches long I cut the stems on each side of the nodes and plant them.
