ADMWNDSR83
A while back, I got some neocaridina shrimp from Aquahuna. After some issues and a tank change, there is one black shrimp who remains. He is in a tank with my white clouds, which is not heated. I've seen on some sites that the neos enjoy colder temps and are therefore good mates for the WCMM. Then I found a different site that says they are not good tankmates, as the white clouds will eat the neos. I wanted to ask the peanut gallery for their experience before spending the money on another 10 neos from Aquahuna. Thanks!
Fish Folk
I’d like to hear from @WhitecloudDynasty on this question. Generally speaking, the small baby shrimplets are a likely target for nearly any fish. I’m not sure adult Neos would become targets if well-fed. Just the fry. Here’s a look at how small baby Neos are (this is a 2.5 gal. tank)… 1
Taco Playz
I have cherry shrimp and Red Rili shrimp in my white cloud tank and they seem to do fine together. In fact they don’t even pay attention to each other. White Clouds have smaller mouths then other fish too so they wouldn’t be able to eat them unless if they are very small.
WhitecloudDynasty
They should be fine, just give them some cover for the newborns. White cloud aren't aggressive predator, if it can dart away..they won't give chase. That is one reason you can raise up white cloud fry with their parents. 2
ADMWNDSR83
Thanks all! I will likely wait until some of my ACO plants to fill in before the purchase. (I have some "Japan" in there, along with dwarf hairgrass, a patch of java moss, and a sprig of water sprite. I'll be sure to send along pics once it gets back to full order.
