2-3 Day Old Fry Venturing Out Of The Java Moss

Finally managed to snap a picture of one of my young fry venturing out of the java moss to see what there is to see! Usually the little ones never really leave the moss, but I managed to catch this one checking things out. He as born with about a half dozen brothers/sisters, though they are much more camera shy! This tank is a breeder for both platys and guppies so I'm not sure which species they are yet.

Looks like a guppy fry because platy fry are normally bigger. Cute little guys but once you get a ton they can be a hassle. Have a good day!

Smart fry to hide! I have seen some of my guppy fry hang out in the open well before they should. I've had others who have been born and in the tank for days before I see them.

sometimes they are little too brave, or a little too dumb, and wander out in the open well before they should.
