BuzzDaddy21
I`m curious to know if anyone else has purchased one of these units. I'm probably way behind the times. AQQA - Aquarium siphon vacuum water changer. I bought this one because I`m too cheap to buy the Python model. Once I figured out how to attach hose to the shutoff valve it worked like a dream. I got the 25foot version.

I just get the faucet connector, a long water hose extension, and a large gravel head. I hook up to my sink, and that’s it. All water powered. Only downside is that any tanks really low require more pressure, and tend to need more maintenance. 2
BuzzDaddy21
Yes, this unit uses water pressure to either put water in or out, took water down to 1/4" or so.
Atitagain
I started with a python 50’ gotta say its an amazing tool to have. But like @Fish Folkis talking about I had a lot of tanks down low so it was hard to gravel vac good. So now I have a pond pump in a 5G bucket that I gravel vac into and it shoots the water outside. Then I still use the python hook up to fill. 1
BuzzDaddy21
I must say that is a need gadget, does the Python system have a shut off valve. well, I`m being lazy so I looked it up and don`t see a shut off but the squeeze thing to start a siphon would save water. Atitagain
@BuzzDaddy21yhe python doesn’t come with a shut off but I bought a hook to fill with. It replaces the siphon when filling and it does have a shut off. I never use it though because it creates such back pressure it squirts water all over the at the connections. dmurray407
My Python is a game changer. I have a 60 gal tank in an old house with weird faucets. It took carrying a lot of buckets of water over the years to figure this out-I go from my tank through a vent to my basement sink and it works like a dream (there is no way to connect to either the kitchen or bathroom faucets on the main floor). Changing my water and cleaning my aquarium used to be an all day job-now I can get it done in 2 hrs.
