Tdog
I have a 48” wide acrylic 100 gallon tank that I’m looking to get a light for. Thinking of going with finnex and was wondering if anyone had recommendations for specific brands that they like. It will be planted and acrylic is slightly under 3/8” thick. dmurray407
My tank is also 48 inches wide (it’s just 60 gallons) and I love my Fluval 3.0. It is fairly easy to program to whatever type/intensity of light you want using a phone app. There’s a thread in this forum with more information.

StevesFishTanks
The fluval light is nice I like the design and it's durability. I had the 48" on a planted 55. My only complaint is it forgets what time it is if it loses power. It has to connect through Bluetooth to get back on schedule. If you want a finnex I can recommend the 24/7 ALC. I have 2 of the 36" on my 125 planted. They work great at about half the price. On my 120 I have 2 of the 24" 10k 0.5w aquaneats. I bulk bought a 25 pack of these lights and they turned out to be one of the best values in my fish room.
Mmiller2001
Finnex ALC's are a great choice. I've sold all but 1 Fluval 3.0 and will be selling the 36 inch Fluval soon. I'm torn between another Finnex or trying Current USA's new light https://current-usa.com/serene-sun-le-pro-led-light/ They are boasting 65 PAR at 24 inches. If you have a bigger budget, look at the Chihiros WRGB II 120. Love mine.
Ken
I have 4 Aqauneats running on Kasa WIFI timers (about $140 total). All I have to pay attention to is when I want them to turn off and on. Or you can get the Fluval 3.0 and read this. It depends on how you want to invest your time and money in the hobby. The fun part is that pretty much any way you want to do lighting will work.
