API stress coat smells like rotten eggs

Guys Im just doing a water change and the API stress coat water conditioner smells like rotten eggs.

Should I bin it or would it still be safe to use??

ive used stress coat for decades and never had a rotten egg smell, id probably trash it.

First time for me as well.

I'm not chancing it. Will have to complete water change tomorrow.

I agree with @lefty o, it should not have a smell. Don't risk it.

I do know that Prime can have a sulphuric odor, but I’m not sure about API. I wouldn’t chance it either.

Stress Coat and Prime are both sulfur containing compounds (sulfur compounds are what causes the rotten egg smell).  But there usually is only minimal sulfur odor from Stress Coat (often more from Prime).  If it’s a very strong odor, I’d probably have a pass on using it.  If it’s mild, that’s pretty normal.

I have the same product and mine does not smell like that at all.
