BenA
We had 3 Amano, 4 Cheery 1 Bee and one Green with a florescent line on the back. Today I have cleaned and changed water in all my tanks, this caused all shrimps to come out so we could count them. The green shrimp disappeared but instead of 4 Cherry shrimps now we have 5. Does it make sense that it has changed its colour? Edited June 19, 2021 by BenA
Administrators Cory Posted June 19, 2021 Administrators Share Posted June 19, 2021 I haven't witnessed a change that drastic, you can intensify color a bit with the sun or foods.
Guppysnail
Possibly the red had Babies?
BenA
Thank you Cory and Guppysnail. I also didn't think that green turns red but no, I don't think that there were any babies because all are the same size...unless, the green has died without us noticing and the baby hatched a while ago and just grew quietly in the shadows. Streetwise
I can’t prove this, but I think some of my shrimp get browner from grazing wood. I see it most with my Amanos. I think that this is just from being partially translucent.
