Nora
Hey all. We will be moving the beginning of July. I have a 5 gal tank with live plants and 4 types of snails. I think i've got a handle on how to move the plants (Im going to copy how Aquarium Co-Op sent them to me). Any tips on how to move the snails? How can I gather up all the smaller ones? How should I keep them happy and contained on the 5 hour drive? Should I save some of the water from the tank? Tips on re-setting up the tank? Thanks all. Patrick_G
Many forum members recommend transporting livestock in a bucket with an airstone. With snails I might just go for the bucket and don’t worry about the airstone. I’ve had good luck collecting small snails by putting a piece of blanched zucchini in the tank. They collect on it and are easy to catch.
lefty o
id put the plants, and snails in a bucket of tank water. main concern is not letting it get too hot while transporting.
Guppysnail
Safest for snail shells is a plastic container with paper towel and enough tank water to cover the towels and them and air holes if they are bladder/ pond or mystery. The rest I don’t know
