Tedrock
Howdy Nerms, I was watching an LR Bretz unboxing and he bought a ton of the coop coarse sponge pads. He said he was going to use them for egg scatters like corys to lay in. Has anyone else done this with success? Let me know how it went for you. Many thanks, Tedrock
KBOzzie59
Cory cats are not scatterers. They stick their eggs to things, plants, glass and such.
Tedrock
Thanks for the info. I was just going off what LRB was saying. Didn’t mean to misinform.
Ken
Not on purpose. But I did have some baby Panda Corys show up in a tank I had wrung out a CoOp sponge filter into. I'm sure the eggs were on the filter. My Corys spend a lot of time hanging out on the sponge filters, it makes sense that they would lay eggs on them. Having them lay eggs on the sponge would certainly be easier than getting the eggs off the glass or finding them in the plant leaves before they get eaten. Just watch for some egg laying action and chuck the sponge in a tank set up for them. I have no idea how you would convince them the sponge is the best place though.

That was so much fun watching. Thanks for sharing. Can’t wait to see an update on baby orange later corys 😂
BriannesFishFam
I have not, most cories spawn on the glass or plants. I have seen most videos and they mainly spawn on the glass, I have seen most in the corners. Then removed with a turkey baster to hatch in a tumbler.
