103 and going up today here in Glendale Arizona so iam removing my heater or leaving it in tank and unpluging it I hope this is the right choice ?

If the water temp is above the temp it is set for it "should" not come on.  Unplugging will ensure it won't come on but IMHO I don't think that is necessary.

Hi Patricia - I want to help but don’t understand if you are having trouble keeping your water temperature stable because of the ambient temperature or because of the heater. Do you need to cool the tank and what is your water temp doing?

water temp is stable and the ambient temp is rising my question is do i really need the thermometer in the tank or not if as days goes by the ambient temp going up  and our house temp goes up with air cond.

I have removed heaters from a few of my tanks for the summer, they won't go below the 70's where I am at.

It depends on the temperature in your house. If you want your tank at 80, and keep your house at 70, you may still need the heater. The best way to tell will be to monitor your tank temperature. If it's too low, you need the heater.
