  1. Hi everyone! Today my thicklipped gourami appears to be having trouble swimming. I'm not sure if this means a swim bladder problem or something else. She can swim around the tank but at rest she floats to the top. It looks like it's taking her a lot of effort to swim down. Where should I begin with treatment? I do have a quarantine tank. @Colu? Tank parameters for main tank are: Ammonia 0 Nitrite 0 Nitrate 30 to 40 ppm Ph 8.0 KH and GH both between 10 and 12 I do not have epsom salt, but I do have aquarium salt. Is epsom salt available at a drug store? I have a cabinet full of other meds. No other fish are displaying issues, including my other gouramis.
  2. I have had my two gourami for a couple days and in the first couple, they were coexisting without incident but this appears to have changed. I have noticed has started chasing the other around the tank. I guess they are both males? I have been observing the. This evening and the chasee appears to be hanging low and hiding between decor. I can imagine this is very stressful on a fish, especially a laborinth fish who needs access to the top to breathe. In the meantime I am working on getting a little more driftwood in this tank to hopefully give a little more cover, but should one be relocated to another tank?
  3. Hi guys,I have got two thick-lipped gouramis and would like to find them a partner. I am sure one of them is a male because he makes bubble nests almost every day. This one I am not sure, it has a kinda pointy dorsal fin but not as pointy as the other male. I have never seen it making bubble nests as well. Can someone help to identify whether it's a he or a she? Thank you.
